My story at LEONI
My history at LEONI began innocently, with an internship in the Logistics Department. As an intern without specific specialized knowledge, I spent some time in the office where I was taught what the profession of a Logistics Specialist looked like, and some in the warehouse where I worked with warehouse workers. In the office, we work on the system and operate on types and quantities, and in the warehouse, something that seemed small in the system is physically huge.
It was a period of great development for the company, and several important projects coincided at this time. As it turned out, my help was needed and my previous involvement was appreciated. During this time, I was promoted to the position of Junior Specialist. I gradually improve my qualifications during my studies or thanks to the training courses LEONI sends its employees to. At the moment, I want to develop towards internal logistics. I'm on the right track and I hope it won't change.
My job
Simply put, as a Logistician, I participate in the entire process and cooperate with many departments. I see LEONI in all its glory, from material delivery to production and finally shipping.
My daily routine
I usually start my day between 7 and 8 a.m., during which time I prepare for work. Once I turn on my laptop, it's time to quickly grab a glass of water and I'm good to go.
Until about 8 a.m. I check what the shipments to be prepared for the current day look like and their status from the previous day.
The morning ends with our daily department meeting where we discuss current logistical topics.
Since then, I have started dealing with current matters, mainly shipments for our clients and preparing documents. In the meantime, I take the documents to the warehouse. Here I also have time to talk to people from the warehouse and see if there is any issue that I should take care of. This is how the time passes until 12, when we go out for dinner. Due to the fact that we work from an external warehouse, we do not have a full-size canteen, but the kitchen is sufficient. I spend the rest of the day completing shipments, current topics and answering e-mails. Around 3/4 p.m., when everything is ready, I can end my day.
My highlights
There have been several exciting moments since the beginning of my adventure with LEONI, but the best of them was the trip to the logistics fair. One day I received an offer to go there and I agreed without hesitation. The next day I was at the fair site!
It was a very interesting trip, a huge event, and the fair itself lasted several days. This day significantly broadened my horizons and view of logistics.
My view of LEONI as an employer
I came across LEONI's advertisement while looking for an internship for my studies. The opportunity to work in the automotive industry was certainly a big catalyst for the decision.
During the internship, I found out that LEONI would like to start cooperation with me, it gave me great motivation and many opportunities for the future.
I value LEONI the most for seeing my potential and for giving me the opportunity to develop my career.
The work culture at LEONI is at a very high level, to a large extent a result of the industry we are in. However, the biggest and most important factor behind this culture are people. I can't say a bad word about my team, between work there is always time to joke and talk. I have noticed similar attitudes in other supply chain teams.
LEONI in 3 words? Flexibility, Reliability, Communication
What advice would I give to someone starting work at LEONI?
I would certainly advise courage and openness. Our teams will always help when asked. It is worth opening up to new acquaintances, stumbles also happen, but they are normal for continuous learning.
